The CantorCO2e team is globally recognized for its expertise and long standing experience within the environmental markets. CantorCO2e has a combined skill set that enables it to offer a full vertically integrated service in the carbon abatement markets: from identifying emission abatement opportunities through to realizing those opportunities and then selling the emission abatement credits in the global emission trading markets. The team is also well placed to exploit opportunities that arise from time to time in related businesses which currently include green energy trading and investment in innovative clean technology development.
Our Senior Management
Laurence Rose is our Chairman. Josh Margolis is our Chief Executive Officer.
Laurence Rose - our Chairman provides strategic and operating insight to the business and our global growth initiatives.
Before assuming this role, Laurence was a Senior Managing Director of CantorCO2e. Laurence is a Senior Managing Director of Cantor Fitzgerald in New York City where he has held executive responsibilities of a number of businesses and strategic initiatives. Laurence is a seasoned executive with a proven track record in operating and expanding businesses and raising capital. Laurence has worked in the securities industry for over 15 years and led several initiatives introducing new products and methodologies for trading and clearing, including the foundation and launch of Canada’s first fully-electronic, order driven, alternative trading system for fixed income trading.
Laurence’s prior professional experience includes positions with CBID Markets Inc., RBC Dominion Securities Inc., Dow Jones Markets Inc., and Bridge Information Systems.
Mr. Rose has served on various financial services industry regulatory advisory committees, including the Ontario Securities Commission's Bond Market Transparency Committee. He has a B.A. in economics from Concordia University.
Josh Margolis - Chief Executive Officer, oversees the management of global emissions and renewable energy markets.
Before assuming this role Josh served as Managing Director of Cantor Fitzgerald Brokerage’s US environmental credit trading and consulting operations. Since 1985 he has provided emission trading consulting, market development, and trading services for states, regulators, and industries in California, the West, Texas, the Northeast, and in numerous countries throughout the world. He was appointed by the California Energy Commission (CEC) to serve on the California Climate Change Advisory Committee charged with the responsibility of advising the CEC with greenhouse gas mitigation strategies and was appointed by the SCAQMD Board to serve on the SCAQMD 3-year RECLAIM audit Advisory Committee. He assisted the San Joaquin Valley air districts to unify their air pollution control rules and helped industry groups in San Joaquin County, Modesto County, San DiegoCounty, Sacramento County, Massachusetts, Oregon, Canada, and the North Sea to develop emission banking and trading rules and/or understand how a trading program could be used to meet environmental goals. Josh assisted the California Rice Industry Association, Building Industry Association of San Joaquin County, Building Industry Association of Central California, Western Governors Association, the US EPA, and Canada to evaluate emission trading rules and/or participate in relevant rule making processes. He developed a clean air auction mechanism for sources to use to transact a variety of national and local environmental products. Josh has also provided emissions trading brokerage and consulting services under the employ of AER*X, RMT, and Dames & Moore (now URS Corporation).
